What an incredible day! Our annual Plow Day exceeded all expectations with 16 tractors turning over 17 acres of rich Michigan soil. The field came alive with the sounds and sights of history as we put 41 plow bottoms to work simultaneously!
The star of the show was undoubtedly the 1920 Rumley Oil Pull - our oldest participant - alongside beautiful machines from John Deere, Minneapolis-Moline, Oliver, and International Harvester.
While we did encounter some corn stalk buildup in one section, we've already identified the solution to prevent this in future events.
This day wouldn't have been possible without Zack's generosity in providing an extra field. The weather improved just in time. Great equipment, and even better company made for an unforgettable celebration of our agricultural heritage.
Huge thanks to all that helped with food. Jill, Jill, Kim, and Kate for cooking in the food trailer. Also, Carol for bringing the garlic toast. It was a perfect snack on a brisk morning.
Beyond the plowing, the real magic was in the camaraderie - sharing stories, techniques, and welcoming new faces to our community.
